1. Sperm- Sperm is male gamete
- Numerous sperm are produced throughout life of human after he has become physically mature
- Sperm is about 60 long
2. Head- Head is about 2.5 wide.
- Contains large nucleus with small amt of cytoplasm
- Nucleus carries haploid set of chromosomes
3. Middle piece- Contains numerous mitochondria
- Mitochondria provide energy for sperm to swim toward egg
4. Tail (flagellum)- Beating movement of tail or flagellum enables sperm to swim towards egg
- tail allows sperm to be motile (able to move)
