Laws of Reflection

When light ray or light beam encounters smooth surface → it is reflected as the above image.

• Light ray going towards surface is called the incident ray
• Light ray going away from the surface is called the reflected ray
• The Perpendicular line ($90°$) to the surface at the point of incidence is called the normal
• Angle between the incident ray and normal ray is called the angle of incidence (${\theta }_i$). Angle between the reflected ray and the normal is called the **angle of reflection (${\theta }_r$)
