Definition

Homeostasis is the maintenance of a constant internal environment. #BiologyDefinitions

Internal env of body includes blood and tissue fluids that surrounds cells in the body. Homeostasis ensure conditions of the blood and tissue fluids e.g. in terms of temperature and WP kept within narrow limits.

By ensuring relatively stable internal env homeostasis allows an organism to be independent from changes in the external env. external env is the environment in which an organism lives in.
